KS2 Library

We are very proud of our library. Our parents organisation, Friends of Powell’s, run fundraising events thoughout the year through which they were able to fund and create the refurbished library. It is a wonderful space for the children to come and use. Reading is at the heart of everything we do at Powell’s. The children make excellent progress and our results are in the top 5% in the country for progress. More importantly, we develop learners who have a love of reading.

Our librarian Mrs Evan keeps us up to date in the world of reading with a monthly library newsletter with news, fun facts, book recommendations from teachers and even a quiz for the children to try!

“My favourite book is Danny Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. I just love everything about this story about a father and son who live in a caravan in the woods. They share a strong bond and the father teaches Danny lots of outdoor skills and they share many an adventure. A truly delightful read! Just a lovely story.” (Suitable for age 6+)
