Forest school jenga!

We are very lucky at Powell’s to have extensive grounds and our very own Forest School on-site. Not only is it great fun for the chidren to partake in, it has proven educational benefits.

  • Increased confidence – children have the freedom, time and space to learn and demonstrate independence.
  • Social skills – children learn to cooperate during team activities; sharing tools and playing.
  • Communication – sensory experiences prompt language development.
  • Motivation – woodland fascinates the children. Participating in forest school increases their ability to concentrate over longer periods of time.
  • Physical skills – children develop physical stamina and gross and fine motor skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding – they come away with an interest in their natural surroundings and increased respect for the environment.
